Sprague Students win Cherriots Art Competition

Once again good news to share! The annual Cherriots Art Competition has been decided. This year the theme was apropos to our times, a hashtag #iexplORe.” This was a fun theme for me to take on with my drawing students. Once again, Sprague had an awesome showing. Our winners were:

  • Chloe Elmore, Sophomore, Second place
  • Anna Kearns, Sophomore, Honorable mention
  • Madelyn Tallan, Junior, Honorable mention

Madelyn’s sister, Alexandra Tallan, class of 2015, was a winner in the past, making Madelyn our first sibling to repeat a win in this contest. Art talent runs in families as they say! Students won bus passes and places in the annual Cherriots calendar and other prizes. Our department was presented with a check for $350 for department needs and art supplies. The three winning students poster designs will be featured in a display at the Bush Barn Art Center during the 2018 Salem Art Fair & Festival.
