Goals:
- Study the 5 elements of Layout and Design: CRAPS
- Identify these elements on specific websites
- The S will represent spacing which is both Line and letter spacing. This is not discussed in the Powerpoint presentation.
Procedure:
- Begin by viewing the Powerpoint presentation "Design for the Non-Designers" (It will be available in "files to copy" too)
- Open a new web page in Dreamweaver and save it as "layout-design.htm". Write your answers to the following questions in this new web page document.
- List at least 5 accepted layout/design techniques that are applied in the Powerpoint presentation above. At least 1 for each CRAPS category. (For the PowerPoint, you won't find examples for line or letter spacing... "S")
- Go to Yahoo.com- Once again, for each element in CRAPS, find a specific example of how it is used/applied on the home page.
- Go to ESPN.com- Once again, for each element in CRAPS, find a specific example of how it is used/applied on the home page.
- Your turn... Use a website you visit frequently and repeat the process for the 5 elements- CRAPS.
Your web page should look something like this:
