• We recommend 3 month/3,000 mile oil change intervals regardless of the manufacturers recommendations.
• Scheduled maintenance (30,000, 60,000 mile services, etc.) should be performed on time and continued throughout the life of the vehicle.
• Given the type of transmission (no filter), we do recommend more frequent automatic transmission fluid changes (15,000miles) to increase the life of the transmission.
• We commonly have vehicles with over 250,000 miles in our shop still going strong, there are a few that have exceeded 400,000 miles!
• When reading your owners manual you will most likely run across the term “severe driving conditions”. There are several factors that may contribute to a car operating under severe conditions but one very common occurrence is driving short distances. When a car is does not reach normal operating temperature many problems can occur. Problems with oil purity and water build-up in the exhaust system are 2 examples.
  For this reason Valley Specialists recommends that you drive your car at least 30 minutes once a week to make sure you bring the engine and exhaust up to normal operating temperatures.
